This is a combined neuroimmunology and neuroinfectious diseases (NINID) research fellowship. The fellows are trained in both clinical and bench research. Those with MD, Ph.D.'s or MD with clinical or bench research experience are encouraged to apply. There is an opportunity to participate in early-phase clinical trials, study disease pathophysiology and conduct translational research using a variety of in vitro and animal models and novel neuroimaging techniques. Training is provided in core competencies and research projects are tailor-made for each fellow. Each fellow has a mentorship committee and a primary mentor. NIH is the world's largest research institution with state-of-the-art research facilities.
