ACTRIMS Endorses the Radiologically Isolated Syndrome Consortium (RISC)ACTRIMS is proud to support the Radiologically Isolated Syndrome Consortium (RISC) and its work to advance research and collaboration in radiologically isolated syndrome. The Americas Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis (ACTRIMS) is pleased to endorse the Radiologically Isolated Syndrome Consortium (RISC), an international collaborative research network dedicated to advancing the understanding of radiologically isolated syndrome (RIS) and the presymptomatic phase of multiple sclerosis (MS). Founded in 2009, RISC brings together researchers and organizations committed to advancing scientific initiatives and accelerating discovery related to RIS. The consortium supports collaborative research and education aimed at improving the understanding of RIS, its prognostic implications, and the factors associated with progression to clinically definite MS. Advancing Research in Radiologically Isolated SyndromeThrough international collaboration and multicenter research, RISC works to strengthen the scientific foundation for the early identification and understanding of MS. Its efforts include advancing risk stratification, supporting the refinement of diagnostic criteria for RIS, informing the design of prevention trials, and exploring emerging biomarkers and approaches to early intervention. RISC also includes the Pediatric RIS (PARIS) Consortium, which focuses on radiologically isolated syndrome in children and the genetic, environmental, and serologic factors that may help predict future disease activity. ACTRIMS is proud to support RISC and its efforts to foster collaboration, advance scientific discovery, and improve our understanding of the earliest stages of multiple sclerosis. |
